Adeel Khan is the Founding Principal at DSST: Conservatory Green High School, a public school in the Central Park neighborhood in Denver. Alongside his team, he helped the the school to achieve 100% acceptance of their senior class to a four year-college and the distinction of being the #1 performing public high school in Denver Public Schools.
The son of Pakistani Immigrants, Adeel grew up in Virginia and moved all over the state before settling in Northern Virginia where he graduated from John Lewis High School. He attended Virginia Tech where he served as the school’s youngest Student Body President and helped lead the campus through the tragedy on April 16th, 2007, where 32 of his classmates lost their lives to gun violence. His passion for service led him to Teach for America in Atlanta, Georgia where he taught at both traditional public and public charter schools in underserved communities.
Adeel moved out to Denver, CO to pursue a dream to open a new school that would expand opportunity and fight educational inequity. He served in assistant principal roles in different neighborhoods and schools in the city of Denver before getting the opportunity to found his own school. He is passionate about educational equity, expanding opportunity for all children, organizational leadership, and healthy teams. In his free time, he’s an avid reader (lots of non-fiction), foodie trying new restaurants around town, and uncle spending as much time over Facetime with his adorable nieces and nephews.
